Episode 14: What does leadership mean to you?

If 2020 taught us anything it’s that leadership is easier said than done. We have been hit by two global pandemics and both of those shine a light on the success and failures, and their impact, of leadership.

In this week’s episode we discuss the skills we believe are required to lead. Leadership is often conflated with management and management skills when in fact leading is not tied to title, hierarchy, gender or race,

Thought leader and author, Brené Brown, defines a leader as someone who “takes responsibility for finding the potential in people and processes, and who has the courage to develop that potential.” Although we don’t specifically reference Brown in our episode she has been at the forefront of tying vulnerability, a skill often embodied by women, to leadership.
