Episode 08: Misinformation, Facts and Science.

The latest episode from Unapologetic Women is out now. This week listen to us discuss the ever-changing landscape of misinformation and disinformation. Is there even a difference? Yes, although it probably depends on who you are asking. Here are just some of the questions we tried to tackle: Who gets to decide what is a fact? who should we turn to and trust for the most reliable and accurate information? Are some voices dangerous to listen to and who decided which voices are more important and reliable than others? What role should we play as a responsible citizen?

In addition to our normal episodes, we will also have a segment called In The Room.

We both realised that we are incredibly fortunate that our jobs often have us on the road traveling and attending some epic conferences with some incredible speakers. This week Toni was able to join the online panel hosted by The Bridge and All Tech is Human on Fighting Misinformation While Promoting Free Expression. Sorcha was able to join the NY Times event - Coronavirus, Tech and Data featuring Charlie Warzel, and Shira Ovide. These events were the catalyst for our debate on misinformation.  We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed discussing this complex and nuanced topic.
